Pole lathe / japanese style lathe turned end grain cup.
The shape is an accurate replica of a cup found in York dating from the Viking occupation between the 9th - 11th century. They are hand decorated with gold leaf with celtic and pictish images.
These cups are fully functional and can be used for either hot or cold drinks.
Birch with milk paint and gold leaf. Sealed with hardwax oil
